If EU farmers had to conform to UK standards, many of them would go out of business. But hey! The EU is our Lord and Saviour, right? Is Entirely Good and Can't Do Wrong?

And if you try to tell me that's a myth, don't bother, the documents are there, the images are there. The testimony is there. The EU leaders want to create a new Holy Roman Empire. No one ever wanted to build an empire "of the good" or otherwise, without applying military force. It's just the way it works - you don't have to go back too far in history to see this pattern emerge. Within 5 years of the formation of the EU army, they will go to war with someone and it will be unpopular and no one in the EU will care, even if it is a disaster... Assuming that the EU lasts that long, which, hopefully, it won't.

Not for the environment, for environmentalists. Nuclear is the most eco-friendly power source we have. Apart from that, I completely agree. It's fully retarded.

This idea is JustPlainStupid™. It's SO out there that it doesn't do anything to help anyone. For a start, the cost estimate is laughable. 500 million? It's taking over 100 million to build 300 miles of new railway lines (existing, proven technology) and you want to build something far bigger with technology that would need to be developed? Add a 0 and then we'll talk. Also "save the environment by completely destroying whole ecosystems". Yeah, good one. Maybe climate changes and we just need to adapt, rather than trying to fight it?

@TheCurlsCrazy Your claims are, themselves, ignorant. Chernobyl was such a disaster because it was a cheap design by a totalitarian regime that "didn't make mistakes". As expensive as the Fukushima cleanup has been, the cleanup has been completed (or close to as makes no difference). And that was on a 40+ year old design, that incorporated none of the lessons learnt from Chernobyl. It's literally the flying of the energy world - you're almost infinitely more likely to die on your way to the airport than you are once on the plane. Same applies to nuclear, you clearly just don't have the capacity to see the comparison.
