  26. Folks like to compare this planned Dark Winter to the former Tory's Edward Heaths Blackouts of the 1970s. Of course there is a great deal of difference since then. i) Today 90+ % of all financial transactions require Grid Electricity for IP Communications. PSTN voice communications are now being phased out for IP VOIP comms. ii) Remaining Cash purchases at larger Supermarkets etc cannot be transacted even with cash because unlike back in the 1970s mechanical tills and the little labels which had the price of the item do not exist anymore. iii) To get to my work there were no Traffic Lights on the road in the 1970s. Now there are 13 to travel the 3 miles. iv) Electric Vehicles and Transport such as Intercity Trains were non existant back in the 1970s. v) Todays heating HVAC requires Electricity of some form to work (combi boilers etc) rather than just a match, a rolled up newspaper and a bucket of Coal. vi) Food refrigeration and Freezers were a luxury back in the 1970s. vii) Electrical appliances such as automatic washing machines, microwave ovens etc were very limited or non existant in the 1970s. viii) IP based Food delivery services did not exist. Even basic knowledge has been replaced with Internet Search engines as the World gets more and more Stupid.
