The most economic method of providing what is called base load generation capacity for when the sun doesn't shine or the wind doesn't blow is coal, nuclear and gas fired power stations, which were already constructed. The environmental catastrophic effects of Lithium/Cobalt/Silver mining for electric Batteries to power vehicles and grid storage of electrical energy cannot be underestimated.
