  1. A 4 KW solar panel installation does not produce 4 KW of power. In the height of summer during the clearest of solar days it might produce 3 KW for 8 hours. i.e. 24 KWhrs per day (will certainly help for air conditioning) During winter the 4KW solar panel installation might produce 400 W of power for 4 hours on non overcast days i.e. 1.6 KWhrs per day. Folks will freeze to death in Winter in the UK if relying on just Solar. Electricity cannot be stored effectively from Summer through Winter unlike a lump of coal (which can keep the energy stored for billion of days)

Repairs could take months.
