The Winter rolling blackouts for 8 hours a day during peak demand in the mornings and evenings will have major impacts on the Supply Chains. Folks will not be able to communicate to make financial transactions and food delivery to supermarkets disrupted as electricity is required for fuel to be pumped into lorries assuming that Desiel and Petrol are available. Folks should at least get a working handheld torch to help from falling down stairs etc.

Getting Off Grid heating and cooking solutions for the fuel and electrical grid electricity supply shortages this winter are getting more and more difficult to find. I also resent having to build my own fuel dump of Jerry cans and LPG/Propane bottles.

The UK Government needs the Department of Survival to provide information on how to not die from the coming emergency. watch?v=b8VlVG5umHo

@BritishEngineer I have a quiet 1.8 KW Kiam KM2000i Petrol Generator but I wouldn't assume petrol will be available. I won't store Petrol on site even with the Explo Safe Wavian Jerry's. I was thinking about getting a small Propane Generator but these are expensive and getting the 19Kg Propane bottles are difficult to get hold off.

Get a Small Lithium Ion Battery pack 26800mahr for around £20-30 with USB C PD port. Get a USB C PD to 12V Cigarette female adapter cable for around £12 Convert a Lamp or uplighter to a 12V E27 LED bulb with a 12V Cigarette male adapter. A 5 Watt LED E27 Bulb will last approx 15 hours enough to light a medium sized room in an emergency. The power packs can then be recharged with the rolling blackout has ended.

@elenastone6011 Yes, there will be lots of homes burning down to the ground this winter from the open flame fire hazard this winter.

@RhetoricalMuse Solar power doesn't really work during winter in Scotland. Getting a portable Solar PV generator with a UPS feature is certainly worth considering. Some even small Solar Generator will charge at 600W and could be charged in a couple of hours with a ICE generator. A 1440 Whr battery would keep a 30W 2000 Lumen LED lamp going for 46 hours or around 5 days at 9 hours a day.
