@thomasfucillo Do you think the coal, gas and oil guys want nuclear? They don't wantnuclear, hydro, solar, wind and they astroturf groups to protest. Maybe they are financing the activism whether it be nimby, native Indian, rich neighorhoods, environmentalist factions

JP will never mock the right whether it is religious right or GOP right. He is riding his internet ratings.

Germany is a net high quality technology exporter and a net energy importer. They buy energy with their money. The energy producers give back the money by buying automobiles, heavy machinery, weapons and real estate. Easy to understand is it not?

@heinzhaupthaar5590 Relax Fritz. Nuclear power is a solution, Reprocessing and MOX fueled reactors are solutions. Unfortunately the only fusion reactor possible is the sun (another solution) How many decisions are based upon politico-economic interests?. On international, national, local and personal levels? Most or all? What about jihad, fatwa and sharia ?

@Chris-pl1wk lots of foreign owned property that is not occupied but maintained. Problem in North America.

Your silly comment counters silly environmentalists.

@serrael-182 Almost coherent.
1
@serrael-182 What would U3O8 sell for if its energy content was sold at the oil price energy content.

talk about thread breaking.

for a cretin

@filipporiva1864 Interestingly wind turbine farms can complement hydro power. The wind supplements the rain. When it is windy the hydro can be throttled back and the water saved for another time. Hydropower is fundamentally solar power; the sun drives the weather water cycle and makes rain. Gravity and proper topography are of course required.

H2 is usually produced from coal or gas. The process produces CO2

@joeharris3810 nice pun
1
Twenty year old incel cynicism. Much overated.
1
JP talks too much. He has said absolutely nothing that was not written in scientific american and popular science type magazines since the 1940s. Why did he bring up vaccines in this interview?. Why does he keep saying "the left" ad nauseum? Is he but another internet pundit who's goal is financing his family?

Have to increase and improve the electricity production, transmission and distribution systems. No matter what.
1
The infrastructure of today will be different in a thousand years.

@ailurusfulgens1849 lithium brines. what happened lithium carbonate or hydroxide prices since three years ago.

Thanks for sharing.

You do not realize how ridiculous your post is.

@artOVtrolling nimby

the explanation is above your pay grade.

NIMBY and fossil fuel lobbying is the reason nuclear power is lagging. The politicians are bought off. The greens are irrelevant but are a convenient enemy to unite the right with the money..
1
Coal, oil, gas and their railways, pipelines, ports and ships obviously have stake against nuclear (and hydro, wind, solar). As for NIMBY not in my backyard, they are typically rich or upper middle class neighborhoods who want nothing industrial close to them. As for greens, they know they are bailing out the Titanic with spoons. JP came back to vaccines. He is a silly sore loser. Vaccines saved millions.

Works for JB's incels,
1
Is he writing about the psychology of the environmental antinuclear people. Or discussing the technology from an engineering, economic and environmental standpoint. Watch it again.
1
JP's use of an ocean of words is a way of explaining the unexplainable
1
@PCTC47 France's EDF (Électricité de France) is a governmental institution.
1
JP is actually more interested in the psychology of the commenters. That is why he is losing his hair.
1
Easy. Greens know that fundamentally the world should be back to simpler less materialistic times. More walking and biking. Less motorised vehicles. Less meat, less light, less heating and airconditioning.
1
Notice that the right wing holes here of nothing nice to say about France's nuclear programs.
1
JP attracts all sorts of extraneous posters.

@Chris-pl1wk Remember the Eurodollar and Petrodollar crises.
1
@Chris-pl1wk It is well known to China, Russia and the Arabs that the USA considers North America untouchable. As such the only invasions are demoralizing propaganda by the first two and mass migration colonization by high birthrate muslims who don't assimilate and love to hate the west.

@ben_spiller fusion on earth is the energy of the future. Going on 50 years saying this

Chernobyl was a graphite moderated reactor and it did not use any salt water. Communist science and engineering are excellent. Ask NASA, ask the Pentagon, ask Elon. Who are you anyway?
1
Chernobyl was a graphite moderated reactor. No salt water involved.
