  1. My problem is that my addiction is kinda broad.. it's the "internet". I consume way too much content on Youtube.. but if I block youtube, then I'm listening to podcasts, if not them I'm scrolling reddit, if not that I'm reading forums. For me it'd be better not to be connected to the internet at all but my work (and to some extent, social life) requires it.. It's a tough puzzle to solve.

  2. I think some of his observations are quite acute but he doesn't seem to be that well aware of his narrow perspective through which he interprets the world and what he calls "human nature". I listen to him and think "yeah, you could see it that way but it's not the truth". He also seems to view humans and relationships like this dagger & cloak game .. which it can be for some people but that too is just one perspective.

  3. I appreciate all the work he's done and knowledge he wants to share but to me it seems like he's got a slight blind spot when it comes to government. He says that there are a lot of factors in our environment and there are systemic problems that perpetuate the current situation when it comes to health care/exercise/diet etc.Environmental and systemic issues are certainly something that governments/public officials should be concerned with. I'm not saying the should ban sugary foods and treats.. there are a ton of other things they could do. For example, I don't own a car, I cycle and walk pretty much everywhere and that's where a lot of my day-to-day exercise comes from (and it's quite a bit).. Whether that is possible or not is certainly affected by city planning and multiple regulations.
