I absolutely agree that pre 2010 cars have some charm, unique design and they were actually built to last. Even the basic Corollas or Camries back then were almost immortal, ready to drive for decades with some bizarre zeros on the odometer. Those days and cars are long gone and now you're lucky if your new car lasts without major issues or recalls before you run out of warranty just in time to trade it and finance a new car. But with all that in mind I still think about getting a new car for one reason - fixing some major breakdowns on an old car is very expensive and mostly pointless as well. Like I'm driving a 2012 Hyundai accent with 180k km on it, one of the cheapest cars to maintain, but still I was told that if a transmission fails or engine (pretty common in Hyundais) it will cost me thousands in cash for parts and labor. So what's the point and financial difference here🤔

True, but if you can't afford a new car with cash, most likely you won't be able to afford any major repairs if the used car transmission or engine breaks down. In north America it might cost thousands of dollars to an extent where it's pointless to invest this money in an old car
