First off - this video is amazing and wholesome. I lived in China for almost 6 years and I honestly fell in love with this country and its people. No matter where I went the locals were treating me the same - super friendly, welcoming, genuinely interested, of course trying to treat me with some food or drinks. Never in 6 years I felt threatened, unsafe or discriminated by the regular folks.
Are there problems in China, human rights violations, is the government over sensoring information, controlling its population? Absolutely. I lived through the covid lockdown in China and experienced it first hand. But that is only one side of this country, and it's really THE only side the western media is covering.
But still believe that on a human level we have a lot in common, like Mark said - isn't that amazing that 2 guys from different countries, can still communicate and embrace this conversation, become friends?
Again, great content, keep it up, I I'm super happy to see the China I know through your lense

@Alex-Chen209 oh, these poor Americans, during hurricane, suffering without government doing anything. There is no one helping. Unlike awesome Chinese government being 最厉害🤣
Look, you can only judge what the country is like, and who's suffering and who's not is you live IN this country long enough. I've seen enough propaganda in China that the west is dying, and only China has the best way of caring if it's citizens. And I've seen the reality, when in the west governments supported their people for instance during covid, helping cover basic expenses. And I lived in China during Shanghai lockdown when most of the people were left alone with their financial problems, stuck at home for months without being able to work, just getting some basic food supplies. So you don't need to convince me how awesome China is. It has some good and bad, as zny other country. And as for the US or Europe - close your douying app, buy a ticket and come see it yourself. Helps clesr the brain from the stuff you get fed by your government

@Alex-Chen209 look, I initially responded to your statement that poor Americans suffer during the hurricane, but the Chinese are very well in China, apparently not suffering from anything. And when I hear statements like this I know for a fact that they come from the propaganda, not from a personal experience. You were told somewhere that Americans are suffering, you maybe even saw some video footage of those struggles and how American government is doing nothing. Do you know anyone there personally, do you know how many government agencies, national guard, volunteers are working on the ground providing and saving lives? I guess no, but you believe you know the real "truth" .
And not all people in China are very well and excited about their lives. Many still live in poverty, especially in rural areas, so generalizing your views and beliefs on the whole nation isn't working. There are huge benefits to both China and western countries as well as huge amount of problems and challenges
And about Tibet. Won't argue, you seem to be from that region, you know the truth form the ppl who stayed, I read and heard many opposing views form the ppl who left because China took over that region. And by the way the truth about China history is not only in Chinese. There's lots of scientific works done in English throughout the years. It's more about what you want to read. More than sure that local Chinese books have an official "truth", well that's how it works

@youyiran I lived in China for years, my friend, and have seen different parts of it. And again, just saying this for a third time already, there is no such thing as different versions of history. There is one true version, it's just that in China big parts of the real history is being erased from the official textbooks and science. That's why as ridiculous as it might be, the new generation has no idea about the real history of China, especially of the 20th century. That's why Mao is considered a great leader, nobody ever talks about millions of people who died during his regime, about people starving to death due to reckless economical policies, the new generation hasn't even heard about what happened on Tiananmen square in the 80s, because it's not being taught, and the access to any western resources is blocked. So don't tell me about the versions, it's just an excuse to justify propaganda.
