  1. sigh why did you have to mention Blockchain, half the comments are gonna be bots again. That being said it's again a solution looking for a problem where a better solution already exists. It's also... crypto, but classic. Web of trust, chain of trust. You receive a certificate with your chips that got signed and augmented all the steps of the provenance. It requires the exact same degree of industry collaboration as a blockchain solution, but is potentially more flexible and won't burn basically any energy since there is little to no guesswork involved - easy to compute, difficult to reverse computations.
