  5.  @richardlumleysmith2843  mhm in part tech gets abandoned. But say power semiconductors, mixed mode devices, are such a gargantuan part of semiconductor market, perhaps the majority, and they are produced on decades old tech.

  6. I don't know, are the dies produced domestically or outsourced to Taiwan? But also have you tried to buy an STM chip recently? Impossible. The company is falling hard on its face trying to satisfy demand. You can order chips with lead time of 50 weeks! First come first serve. I'll be moving my projects to CSK clones and RISC V for sure.

  7. 10 years behind now is actually remarkable gjven just before 10 years ago, they were 30 years behind. Where in the graph it has that 17 year span painted in, what was just before it? Decades of pure stagnation not adequately described by the straight line painted in there.
