  6. tejano151 The American Southwest is irrelevant.  Try finding someone who speaks Spanish in, say, a remote part of Nepal if your aeroplane crashed there.  Chances are, you wouldn't be able to.  But you'd be able to find English speakers there.  In every country of the world, there's someone who speaks English.

  12. tejano151 English is a true lingua franca, and will survive all the others.  Spanish will last a long time, but it will eventually die down to a bare minimum as more and more people learn English.
