  1. It’s not just her age, it’s her blocking progress and treating the younger generations with disdain. Which has been happening for years. This isn’t people wanting to push out the nice old lady out of a job working at the library or something quaint, this is a a very important position that can affect everyone living in this country. You said your mom is 74 maybe you’re projecting defensive feelings about your own relatives onto how people are talking about Feinstein? Feinstein sucks. Trump sucks. People are going to make age-related and looks-related jokes/complaints because they don’t like them for lots of other reasons that are unrelated to their age or looks. We’re punching up at people whose actions affect millions. Not punching down at some citizen whose quiet life affects us in no way at all. Your mom is 14 years younger than Feinstein and not a senator. You don’t have to take it personally and go all boomer on “youngins today”. There are plenty of our elders commenting on how it’s past time for her to go too. Point taken on how we’ll all possibly end up like this at the end of our lives, though. Sad but true.
