  26. I get compliments on my hair all the time. But people don’t randomly reach out to touch it. Or ask if they could out of curiosity. (Except closest friends maybe.) But I’m white. Black women get that frequently. I don’t think most people doing the asking mean to put them in such an awkward position. It’s got to be annoying and insulting having your personal space entered or being treated like a freak. I look at it like touching a pregnant woman’s belly. Strangers probably shouldn’t do it. And certainly not without asking. But it puts the pregnant woman in an uncomfortable situation. And she only has to deal with that for half a year where her belly is noticeable, as opposed to a black woman who has to deal with that her whole life.

  31. I saw his sincerity and responded to it before I heard what his platform was. I then spent days trying to find any news sites discussing him and couldn't believe the dearth of information about him (and most of what little was out there, was negative). Even previously left-friendly sites like The Daily Beast had either a Bernie blackout or smear campaign. (That was before I found out Chelsea Clinton is on their parent company Board of Directors.) I hope he does, but I'm not sure he'll be able to enact all of his platform. If he makes headway on any of it, that will be a success to me. More importantly, the spirit and overall message that he's about is ENDING CORRUPTION and setting America back in its proud path. I sense the genuine honesty in him. If you can't see that, I can't help you. But I hope you do eventually.
