  8. Okuhle Ntshweni no, progressives are more left leaning. A progressive (or someone further left, socialist, eg) commonly refers to the Democratic Party as the “centrist” party. And liberals as centrist. In the generic sense, progressives are more liberal. But the word “liberal” here has different connotations depending on who you’re speaking to. Many progressives if you called them “a liberal” might take it as an insult. Basically they have an (often uneasy) alliance out of necessity under the umbrella of the Democratic Party. A “big tent” as it’s known. I hope that was somewhat helpful instead of being more confusing. 😄
