If you think chickenhawk Trump was a “conscientious objector” with his admiration for dictators, his giant hard-on for the military, desire for a parade, repeatedly questioning why we can’t nuke people, wanting to kill innocent family members of terrorists, pro-waterboarding, wants to fill up Guantanamo bay after his predecessor emptied it by 75%, dropped the MOAB and talks about “Big beautiful bombs”, hires John Bolton, etc ...well, that takes a huge amount of cognitive dissonance.
