The GOP religious nuts would love to adopt a law like Russia’s! From the Newsweek article: In 2013, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a controversial law that criminalized “public actions" that "clearly disrespect society" and are aimed at "insulting believers' religious feelings.” As a result, simple actions deemed disrespectful to religion have led to felony charges for numerous Russians.

Stranger Happened, while that may be true (I didn’t read any further about her) the article mentioned other cases besides this woman. And there was this nugget: In 2013, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a controversial law that criminalized “public actions" that "clearly disrespect society" and are aimed at "insulting believers' religious feelings.” As a result, simple actions deemed disrespectful to religion have led to felony charges for numerous Russians. Felonies??

Stranger Happened, I though you were making an honest point. But the way you posted this on dozens of comments makes me question your motivations. You are also acting disingenuously by leaving out the fact that this woman was NOT THE ONLY person who has been charged with felonies for religious offense in Russia. From the Newsweek article (lol which you called propaganda): In 2013, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a controversial law that criminalized “public actions" that "clearly disrespect society" and are aimed at "insulting believers' religious feelings.” As a result, simple actions deemed disrespectful to religion have led to felony charges for numerous Russians.

The Newsweek article mentioned more than just this woman Kyle focused on. Note “felonies”: In 2013, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a controversial law that criminalized “public actions" that "clearly disrespect society" and are aimed at "insulting believers' religious feelings.” As a result, simple actions deemed disrespectful to religion have led to felony charges for numerous Russians.
