  4. We need real Medicare for all, that’s a tax and everyone is covered. Opt in means still premiums (and keeping the insurance industry lobbying powerful enough to weaken it).

  17. Richard Valentine that’s for the current Medicare program in place that has a 20% copay, so many people get the gap or advantage plans from private insurance. The new real “Medicare for all” plan by Bernie (that Warren also backs) takes out the complications and has better coverage.

  33. Richard Lamoreaux why do you care about insurance companies who exist to make a profit off of you? Medicare wouldn’t be looking to make shareholders happy with profits, or using your premiums to pay for marketing and lobbying. Just for administration (which is way less than private insurance) and actually paying for your medical care. Not in some fat cats pocket or wasted on advertising.

  34. Richard Lamoreaux I don’t know if you have a serious condition or are elderly and struggling with adult daily living issues, but my mother is on Medicare and gets great care. She’s lived with us for a decade now and nobody has come into the home. Sounds like it was a doctor who made that call for you. Maybe they were concerned, I don’t know but it’s not a reason to resent Medicare. I personally would love to have Medicare. Our insurance is so expensive and has such a high deductible I can’t even afford to go to the doctor.

  37. Logic B4Religion exactly what I had heard. That’s not what Pete’s watered down Medicare choice plan is. It had private competing with Medicare for the same benefits, instead of just leaving room for supplemental like real Medicare for all should be.
