  3. I always take the probiotic Saccharomyces Boulardii for several weeks when I’ve needed a broad spectrum antibiotic for something. That’s really interesting about the appendix...thanks!

  4. TheFeldhamster yes it’s very interesting and exciting what they’re learning about gut flora and how it’s also related to what foods we crave and the strength of our immune system. Gotta love science.

  8. Franz Tornado oh yeah, we’re talking about gall bladder vs. appendix. 😁Probiotic for when your gut bacteria is lessened or needs a boost (prevent travelers diarrhea, antibiotics - to prevent c. Diff, and who knows...maybe for appendix removal). I don’t know what the treatment is for a removed gall bladder. My relative had theirs taken out and it’s caused digestive issues, because it’s your bile regulator to process dietary fats. Without it the bile just flows through unregulated from the liver. Doesn’t sound fun, but better than the horrible pain, gall stones, bursting or blockage.

  13. Steven Turner thanks for the insight, doc! The only exception I would take is calling the ER cheap. For us peasants who are not well off, it’s anything but cheap 😉👍 And kudos to you for working the ER. We do for sure need better mental health care in our country, and better healthcare period.
