I can understand why an employer would want to hire John over Jennifer. Jennifer could get pregnant and decide to leave. John won't. We all know the stereotype of men who are always working too hard to spend time with the kids, but those men are the reasons why men mare making more money. You never hear the story of "My mom's always at work and never has time to play catch with me." It's funny how either way you slice it, the dad's to blame for both the wage gap and not devoting enough time to the kids, but if they don't bring in the money they are "no good dead beat dads".
