  2. Most people are missing the point here. He embarrassed his company, which is a SEVERE offense. If he had to common sense to at least use an alias, it wouldn't matter. The girl would have gotten over it and it would have been forgotten. But this man posted it publicly, also unwittingly seeming to reflect the views of his employer. That's career suicide. He might as well have a police record. No employer wants a publicity mess like this; that's why he will continue to have a hard time to find work. His crime isn't that he had an opinion, or berated a low level worker. It's that he did so with no regard to how this would effect the company whom he represents as a CFO. He destroyed his employer's reputation. What's more, making this appearance after the fact, trying to play the victim card while using food stamps at a gourmet grocey store? A PR nightmare! I wouldn't want someone who was willing to make a public spectacle of himself as a representative of MY company, even if I agree with his viewpoint (which I do. Chick Fil A is full of self righteous twits). Utter fail.

  6. I've went to Starbucks to work on a project. Sat for 35 minutes before ordering a sandwich and a water. An hour later, got a cake and a cup of cocoa. Was there for a total of 2 hours and no one said a word to me when I didn't order at first. Starbucks WANTS people to hang around there. It's how they get you to spend your money. That's their business model; that's why they have lounge chairs/books to read.

The only exception to this code of conduct is if the individual happens to be in journalism where opinions are freely expressed. Otherwise one must disassociate themselves so as to protect their company's PR. This company has NOTHING TO DO WITH the politics in question. In acting as he had, he alienated potential clients and fellow staff. It is simply poor taste to represent a company in this way.
