  1. I'm not so sure this is the proper definition of helicopter parenting. Helicopter parenting is more when the parent zooms in and takes care of their adult child's problems, and the child never learns how to be self sufficient. This makes the child entitled and lazy, and unwilling to work hard for anything.

  12. Remember that your feelings are just as important as hers. What people with BPD tend to do is make everyone around them prioritize the BPD-Sufferer's feelings over everyone else's. You are not a doormat. It's not your job to "fix" her.

  16. To spite all the hate that a few have spewed in this thread, I'm going to agree with the OP: unconditional love heals all wounds. We can have healthy boundaries. We can refuse to tolerate abuse. But we don't have to be hateful and bitter. I love my father, not because he's lovable, but because I'M a loving person.

  28. Sad but true. But you'll not see many videos on the dark behaviors of people who have BPD because they're so volatile and the content creators don't wish to upset them. LOL the sad part is they are not prone to really thinking about how they could be hurting others because owning up to that would trigger their fear of being abandoned. They really just want you to shut up and continue to walk on eggshells, which is they only way they are comfortable with people.

I grew up not just walking on eggshells, but eating, sleeping and breathing eggshells. But you, sir, are out if line with your vitriol. You sound irrational and unhinged, similar to the way my sister would get when she was having one of her episodes. Being subject to abuse is not an excuse for you to be abusive to strangers who have never done you any harm.

  40. One thing my sister was always good at was making me question myself. She stole money from me in the past, overdrew my bank account once, and even tried asking recently as a few years ago to get more out of me. That's the physical evidence I have to know who the toxic one is. Never mind how she scratched up my throat because I said I didn't like a particular actor...she was pregnant and blamed mood swings for that one. I said Orlando Bloom was overrated...next thing I know she's chasing me from room to room, telling me I will never get to see my unborn niece, throwing a box on toiletries at my head and locking me barefoot out of the house....Because I said I didn't like Orlando Bloom as an actor. She blamed hormones for that one, but more recently (as of 2 years ago) she flipped out at me because I posted on Facebook (not even directed at her) I don't care for Disney's business practices...which again resulted in threats of me never getting to see my now teenage niece or her Jud sister again. Because I said I don't like Disney...We're nearing our 40s now. You'd think this would end once we pass 35. HOWEVER, it's so much fun to hear the bs she tells her friends about me. I came to visit her and some nosey friend kept calling her just to "make sure she was OK" having horrible me at her house...what story is she telling herself about me so she can make herself look like the victim? What have I done to her that requires this "friend" to protect her against me? I never made her bleed just for not liking an actor. I never made her bank account overdraw because I stole her tax return. I NEVER ONCE told her it was her fault Dad hit us and cheated on our mother. She did all of those things to me. She knows it. I gave her loan after loan and never once asked for a single penny back. I'd probably STILL be doling out cash for her if my husband didn't have the sense to stop me years ago. I'd let her use my car, paid for both her AND her husbands cars and rent...and she has the audacity to somehow need protection from ME? Protection from some stranger? What did I do to her that requires protection? All I've ever done was look the other way and make excuses for her as she walked all over me. And now I'M the one worried about being abusive?? I'm ridiculous.

  41. I'm a swinger. We both decided that polyamory was not for us. We have 2 couples who wanted to become poly with us but immediately started policing everything we did. The guy texted me at work and got pissy when I didn't text back right away (my husband's never made such a fuss). I didn't put up with that sort of thing when I was single and dating and I won't put up with it from him. I don't care how good he is in the sack. The other couple have a girl who's really awesome, but her husband's really into BSDM, which I hate. He wants to flog me and I keep telling him I don't do that kind of thing because I was beaten as a child. He then had the audacity to tell me I should do BDSM to help me "cope" with my trauma. I almost kicked him out my house. If I want to deal with childhood trauma, I'll go to a licensed therapist, thank you. Not some dude with a boner and a cattle prod. 😑 There's a reason why I married my man. We have a good understanding between us that took 17 years to grow. Everyone who has a problem with my favoritism of him can get to steppin.

  47. This videos is somewhat true, but these traits are similar to someone who is emotionally irresponsible. I had a friend who was very selfish and inconsiderate. But you didn't care say it was unkind of her to stand you up or call you at all hoursshe'd blame her anxiety. She would also constantly borrow money and never pay it back because she never had a job because the anxiety. She would always play the victim, but if you ever had to cancel a plan or couldn't give her what she wanted, she'd get angry.
