Because women write more fan fiction then men. THINK ABOUT IT: Twilight is just a fanfiction of Interview With A Vampire, and 50 Shades is just a fanfiction of Twilight. BOTH written by females who have admitted to having crushes on LeStat/Edward, and BOTH self insert female characters are Mary Sues! When guys start writing self inserts that make millions, THEN you'll hear more about Gary Stus.
