  1. The US only has Alaska for 3 reasons. 1st The British Royal Navy kicking Russias Navy ass, that made Russia need to find money quickly. So they decided to sell Alaska, but to who, Russia didn't want Britain to have it so close to the motherland. 2nd Russia didn't won't the British to have Alaska for Britain and Russia where to superpower enemy's, and Britain didn't want Alaska due to Britain already having access to the Pacific and having Canada and still having some territories in America still. 3rd Russia then sold it to America to try to keep good relationships with them. So if not for Britain the US wouldn't have Alaska and if Britain wanted it they could have just taken it from Russia.
