  6.  @Arcaryon  I know where you can keep your backstop, in your eutopia. The EU is not capable of reforming itself sufficiently to be acceptable for us to be a member, accept the new reality there is much to be done.

  7.  @Arcaryon  You cannot remove heart from the equation just because it makes sense, lasting progress only develops in harmony with the dictates of humanity. The EU created an infrastructure that too many find uninhabitable because of fundamental flaws that mean it's existence will only endure if it becomes unrecognisable from how it is today and that cannot be forced by legislation or any other way. Is how it looks to me anyway.

  8.  @Arcaryon  With tolerance, shared goals and change dictated by the majority from the bottom up. With hubris and the over rewarding of the elite with irrational adulation for their wielding of power held in check you may begin to make a difference.

  10.  @Arcaryon  Entirely depends on you opinion of Europe and what it's future should be, doubtless there are many who support Brexit for what I would call the wrong reasons namely fear, hatred, personal gain and nationalistic pride just as there are people who support the EU for the same reasons. It is the job of the pragmatic adults to achieve progress to a more harmonious future for the benefit of all, dogmatism and preconceived ideas of right and wrong and religious absolutes are obstacles to be overcome.
