@d15ude What was the other name for the Nazi party, oh yes national socialists I think. Names are all b------ks anyway. Nice to hear from someone who speaks for the whole EU, I'll stay away from the EU as long as it exists even though it was a pleasure to watch the Germans trying to hog the sunbeds, they're not all like that are they?

I see Mandelson is strengthening the EU's resolve, he said today that he doesn't think Boris would leave without a deal because it would damage the UK economy too much. More likely it would damage Mandelsons lifestyle and standing in the eyes of his mates.

@longlivethechief2373 I agree our governments have been next to useless at running our country before and since Thatcher she was the only one who had a clue mainly due to her middle class background and science degree, that said the creation of the EU and our membership of it just sealed the deal on our non governance. It remains to be seen whether or not we have learnt anything from the past 70yrs, nothing is guaranteed, just because the majority of Brits no a con when they see one doesn't mean a lot.

@longlivethechief2373 The EU have said as much by saying they don't want the UK as a competitor so will not do a deal with us the same as they did with Canada, I think the proximity issue is just an excuse. Honest competition is an alien concept to socialist ideology but that is what brings real progress, denying has caused the majority of the EU's problems. I don't think the hit to financial services will be significant but wouldn't bet the house on that, people can behave very irrationally. We have a world class scientific community, universities, innate engineering talent and venture capital finance capability, with the right government focus the UK will be unrecognisable in 10yrs for better or worse.

@longlivethechief2373 I think the problems with the UK government have been exacerbated by our EU membership, they might improve if they are big enough for the job of actually running the country, if not the fireworks should be illuminating.

@vinwilliams6562 The EU project cannot work without taking money from the countries that make it and giving it to those who don't, and what does the project provide for it's members? Chaos and destruction of nations are the two primary gifts it seems to me along with the creation of an unaccountable elite. Compare that to the UK project which operates on a similar basis with a different ideology and the outcome is much more desirable any one of sound mind will conclude.

@vermicelledecheval5219 What is the EU but a failed project. Personally I have no objection to foreigners but do not accept being forced to live with them. Keeping people ignorant helps the power seekers manipulate and control them, it's humanities history who knows if it will ever change. IMO we were moving in the right direction in the 60's and early 70's then lost it until Thatcher came unexpectedly to power and tried to turn things around, unfortunately the British members of the upper class, illuminati or plutocrats whatever you want to call them decided their interests were better served by dumbing down the man on the Clapham omnibus and distracting him with the usual BS. So here we are today taking a knee and saying sorry to anyone and everyone and that we are solely to blame for all their failings while keeping the poor in their place and the rich man in his Ivory tower.

@vermicelledecheval5219 I doubt we'll ever be united but would hope we can cooperate closely for mutual benefit in the future, the loss of independence incurs a loss of identity and freedom that far outweighs any potential benefits to me. I can't speak for the other EU countries as long as their democracies function then their future is in their hands, whatever the future is to be cooperation brings more rewards than animosity.

@Doggle Bird They only recognise their own facts or alternative facts if you prefer.

@matthewbaynham6286 The EU will suffer too much if they deny themselves access to London's financial services while London will do what's necessary to survive, doubtless the EU could keep passing legislation to try to curtail London's involvement in EU financial deals but that wouldn't be helpful to their international credibility. The EU has a lot to think about.

@Enrico_Palazzo_opera_singer Is it cause I's black.

@vermicelledecheval5219 The common folk are suffering unduly today from globalisation, EU regulations, illegal immigration and the virtue signalling British elite. They are as much or more down trodden and dumbed down today as they ever were that's what taking back control really means, making the government accountable through democratic vote with no where to hide as was the case when Britain created it's Empire. Obviously that would not be our objective for the future that's more the EU's problem it seems to me. The current situation where the wealth of the top earners have increased their wealth by something like 250% while the average person's wealth has increased by 12% is not something I want to support.

@vermicelledecheval5219 I see where you're coming from but there are so many problems that the EU has not addressed in all it's existence or planning to meet the needs of it's highly diverse collection of countries other than by gradually destroying their diversity. The states of America have much greater autonomy than those of the EU I fear the only solution is back to square one and work out a new plan with the benefit of hindsight it may be possible without the lies and obfuscation used previously and taking a much slower more democratic approach something worthwhile could be achieved. Humans are fundamentally animals and differences matter, each new generation has to undergo a civilising process or most revert back to their animal instincts a project such as the EU must build from the bottom up as much as the top down. Life can easily return to jungle rules as it has done so many times in history despite the best of intentions and we don't seem to far away from that now. People are so good at believing in the illusions they create until finally reality takes a hand to create situations for which they are totally unprepared, COVID 19 looks like a wake up call we seem to have escaped from a big disaster this time, by luck the virus does not appear too serious but the next one could be different. Unfortunately intelligent, unambitious and experienced people rarely have much influence in policy making, I would love to know how Trumps administration really works, the most reasonable, sensible and believable U S politician I have seen on TV in the last 6 months was a black republican member of Trumps team well past middle age and a beacon of hope that the media is totally wrong.

@davebox588 At least we might get the chance to see if your theories play out, hope your not too disappointed. How do you like the idea of swingeing tax increases on second and third home owners.

@mrmyloc When driving in your car if the police want you to pull over and get out of the car do you pull over and do as they request or do you sit in the car start shouting, refuse to do as they ask and behave like scum always behave when they disagree with something?

@davebox588 Maybe but would it be a good thing.

@bucketsandshims That's the way that war begins, can't say I'm surprised it's been looking more and more likely lately. I wonder how many will survive this time the potential for the greatest reduction in population numbers in human history must be on the cards, never mind, the planet will survive and thrive.
