We are leaving the Franco German empire

Wonder what rule changes there might be? maybe all departing member states must obey all EU rules in perpetuity.

It would seem inevitable and a good thing too that we will leave, once the break is achieved it will be even more interesting.

The single market was created to try and achieve some worthwhile benefit from EU membership, but it doesn't make being in the empire worthwhile.

An empire is an entity which holds sway over the peoples of other countries, the EU claims to be a joining of countries implying all have equal importance, power and influence in the union. This is clearly not the case with the countries representatives in Brussels and certainly not the case for the voting population of the countries. The often cited democracy of the EU is merely democracy of the elites who are not representative of the populous. The REAL people of Britain are prepared to suffer any hardship prepared to make Britain GREAT again and a true democracy.
1
By real I mean the people who live, work and pay their taxes to the UK.
1
Don't you understand what democracy is? It is not electing leaders to a parliament that does not represent the views of the electorate and removes the judicial power out of the country and gives away sovereign power.
1
Well it seems you prefer living under the new EU empire and thinking it's better than the past I take it you're not Greek? All empires die, I hope it's not to painful for you.

The Franco German empire is not exactly like the old UK empire it is a 20th century construction to achieve the same ends. It is yesterdays solution to the questions of achieving peace and economic growth, though it has some agreeable features it has to many undemocratic features to be acceptable to enough of the populations it seeks to govern. What comes afterwards is what you have to decide, I think the evolution of the British Empire could provide some answers.

Any emotional fury as you call it is against our loss of democratic rule. You think Germany and to a lesser extent France do not dominate the other 26, I think you are part of a shrinking majority.
1
My point is that everyone does not have a veto and democracy cannot be operated by proxy. You can call it a political organisation or whatever you like but it still operates pretty much as an empire and looks more and more like an empire as time passes.

British democracy elects a government that has produced a manifesto, if the government does not keep to the manifesto pledges it is held to account by the media and the opposition. If desired they lose at local elections followed by a general election. That is democracy not the backroom deals and opaque machinations carried out in Brussels. No system is perfect but ours is as good as it gets. I hear very little about EU politics on British media and have no desire to take part in making legislation for foreign countries.

Torian when did they have the vote on the EU's brexit deal offer for the UK and why didn't Britain use it's veto?
1
In our democracy we know what our representatives proclaim to stand for, what our parties proclaim to stand for and we can see when they don't carry out or support what they said they would and then we vote according to their performance on issues that directly affect us. What happens in Brussels is to distant and it's decisions have too far reaching effects on us with no control by us. As I said who voted on the deal we have been offered and what is the process for scrutiny and re-assessment, it would probably take a lifetime by when the issues would be different.

Have you heard about the report just out saying the UK will suffer economic under performance after Brexit, what a surprise, we have been outsourcing the running of our country at an increasing level for the last 40yrs. looks oddly analogous to the Carrilion debacle to me, so the sooner we run our country the better I think.
1
Is it economically advantageous to EU countries if a free trade deal is struck with the UK and an arrangement to have common standards is agreed?
1
Sad Khan Londons mayor said May is damaging the economy by saying what rights EU migrants to the UK will have after we leave the EU. Can someone tell him we are leaving the EU to run our country and we leave in March 2019. If the EU don't wish to be reasonable we will pay them nothing and put whatever tariffs we want on their exports to us.
1
Some people may have begged to stay in the EU until 2020 mainly because they never want to leave. The plain fact is we are leaving and we have the resources to weather any short term problems unlike the situation in the EU.

So every successful prospering country is a world superpower? Mommy i'm scared.
