I don't think the comparison with the Nazi invasion of Europe holds water, fighting with acts of terrorism is the last resort when all other options have been exhausted which must not have been the case in Africa as the terrorism did not bring about the change. That was brought about by diplomacy from more enlightened countries such as the UK.
