@booshting3520 Isolation from the virus is the only workable solution available at present, if you have no contact with the virus you will not get it. Until the government can test to isolate those who have the virus from those who don't all you can do is try to limit your exposure to it. This will reduce the spread of the virus until there are some effective developments to alter the situation, there are three main categories of people to my knowledge, those that have the virus, those that don't and those who have had it and now have some immunity. The policies introduced by the chancellor virtually guarantees everybody's financial survival which is all that you can expect from him, the ability to pay essential bills or have them deferred with enough left over for food is the most you should expect in a time of crises from him. Organising society to prevent profiteering and help to keep people safe is the other main task of the government using whatever powers are necessary, people can make these tasks easier or harder by their behaviour and will suffer the consequences of their actions.

Shame China was a little late in recognising and admitting they had a problem and preventing people flying all around spreading covid 19.

@rabbitwho I think even 2 weeks ago there were probably 10,000 infected maybe more the majority only get mild symptoms or are asymptomatic, the government realised this and not having sufficient testing facilities at the time tried to preserve economic performance for as long as possible while steering people to accept the inevitable. An early lock down would have created more problems than it solved due to peoples attitude toward authority today.

Are people still coming into the country untested for covid19?

@memskara220 Maybe if the dead number 1M we'll get marshal law, could be a little controversial though, good thing so few people have guns in the UK they don't like obeying orders these days.

@mikexlr8 Depends whether you would rather put your trust in the mobs that would form under the control of the hardest bastards around or the police and the British Army I would prefer the latter, don't forget marshal law would mean summary execution for any disobediant actors which is my preferred option.

@mikexlr8 ''Ultimately you're responsible for your own protection'' This is true but has different connotations depending on the circumstances, I would prefer to have an automatic pistol for my own protection but this is illegal here so I have to content myself with relying on the state which has sufficed so far. Some will always die innocent or not no matter what laws exist, on balance I think the UK does better than many countries maybe by a smaller margin than previously. Their are probably improvements that should be made and maybe the current crises will bring into focus what can be changed to benefit us, I have long been in favour of capital punishment for instance. The future is not a given the views of the majority should have an influence in advanced cultures on the laws that govern them, the behaviour of minorities since this crises says much about our societies failures to date.

@CoalClear It's unavoidable people are waking up all over the world in greater numbers than ever as opposed to being woke.

@The Truth about Africa hurts Masks are most effective when worn by people who are infected, in non medical situations.
1
@The Truth about Africa hurts Yes, unfortunately we can't suddenly get hold of enough surgical masks like we can't get tests.
