It definitely cannot continue under its current arrangements, It's going to be a real challenge to return to a Europe of nation states but it must be done. There are likely going to be some big deals done with the US IMO, and Trump loves a deal more than he loves tariffs I think.

Different groups have different reasons, some get personal financial benefit from Labours dependency on union money such as train drivers, many are indoctrinated at school some by their communities.

No accommodation should be given by the state for the practice of foreign religions, foreign religious practices should have no legal status in this country if they do not contravene British laws then they will be allowed. People should all be judged equally under British Christian based laws, a referendum on capital punishment every 3 yrs should be enshrined in law. If foreigners want to live here as British citizens then that would be acceptable on the meeting of certain conditions such as a having a job and a ten year record of employment if they become out of work. International law should have no primacy over British law and the nation state should be our governments prime consideration, nothing should have precedence over that sovereignty.

And a sovereign country will always have the right to control it's own territory, if memory serves me correct most EU countries supported Argentina trying to invade recognised British territory in the Falklands merely because of it's proximity to Argentina.

They got us into this mess so they'll have to figure it out, if the only solution is gunboat diplomacy that would be surprising or if people feel a strong sense of injustice they might take the law into their own hands. The EU have supposedly been negotiating for 4 years what have they come up with so far, justice must be done regardless of the legalities, surely the EU are in agreement about that. That means minimising the losses to both sides, the EU and the UK will both survive after Brexit and the future will be theirs to decide, surely we are above games of one upmanship we must have learned something from the last 80 years.

It would be good if the rest of the UK could pre plan for their independence and publish it's intentions and how the future relationship would work with the estimated costs for building the border, operating customs checks, removing UK funded industries, their need to create their own currency and expected tariffs on Scottish imports etc. This would reduce the need for time wasting negotiations like we have had with the EU and reduce the opportunities for political B S and whining we would have to endure from Blackford and friends post a yes vote for independence.

I wonder if it's sort of like an unwritten British constitution and only exists in the spirit of British people and needs to be venerated and celebrated to keep it immune from being lost to the forces of globalisation and multiculturalism. Until that blow is struck nothing much is really happening, what happens after is down to us and our government. Then it will be time for the government to formulate a balanced view of what they want to achieve and how. It's not going to be easy plain sailing but it should worth it, it won't be like Beirut in the short term and in the long term it will be what we make it.
