  1. Democracy works but frustratingly not in a very direct fashion, Customs Union membership would only be during the implementation period. It's taken 40 yrs of membership to get to here if it takes 5 yrs more to get free it won't be too long.

It's pointless blaming democracy for the state of our parliament the blame lies firmly with the EU, this is the result of EU membership it is effectively like having a parasitic worm in the brain that controls your functions for it's own benefit. Fortunately some areas remain worm free and probably always will.
