@kabsboom NOT in this case. China does not have the leverage against America that America has against China. For one, the USA is China's number one trading partner. The USA trades more with Mexico and Canada. Two China's economy.y has been struggling since COVID. The Chinese government had to issue five stimulus packages to keep the economy going. Three and this is important. GETTING IN A TRADE WAR WITH THE RICHEST COUNTRY ON THE PLANET WILL NEVER END WELL FOR THE POORER COUNTRY! Why isn't the man in the video mentioning this? I know...He can't stand the thought of the US winning at anything. Bug they do all the time.

@forall-m7p America relies on Canada and Mexico more than they do China. Therefore we have more leverage than China. For instance the Americans can not make a car without Mexico and Canada. USA buys potash for agriculture, electricity for industry and 4.4 million barrels of oil per day. We can tariff that. 36 states have Canada as their #1 trading partner. What can China do to retaliate against the USA tariffs? Not much.

@Bk6346 okay let's play. China has options to buy elsewhere. Now where does China sell their goods if not to the USA? Do Chinese manufacturers want to sell a tire to the USA for $100, or sell the exact same tire to India for $35. The West pays the best and all companies in the East chase that money.
