@Mwoods2272 You must be mistaking the US government for a different country. One that keeps tight controls over it's citizens. US government has nothing to do with athletes. Athletes can make up their own minds. Government cannot stop them. Only warn.

Most countries do! Travel advisories can be positive too. Canada's had a link to what to do in case of a mass shooter while on vacation. Keep your head down and enjoy your stay.

@treehunned7615 It is because of distrust of the government NOT because the water is overly dangerous. This distrust stems from the fact the Japanese government didn't tell the public which way the radiation was drifting. Many people fled INTO the fallout. I wish none would be dumped in the ocean as you do.
