@Deathproof-Zero1 At maximum range TOS would need six salvos to guarantee a hit on the target. HIMARS requires just one rocket! HIMARS is an airstrike in a box. Where neither side wants to risk planes in a dangerous airspace. HIMARS delivers on target, with minimal risk and at a fraction of the cost of precision Russian weapons. Knowing USA could not match Russia with numbers of artillery and MLRSs the USA came up with HIMARS. Each launcher equals the firepower of nine Russian Grad launchers when you take into account accuracy. Remember Lysychansk? That was the last thing of note Russia took. One week later HIMARS arrived and Russia started losing. Those that disagree do not understand HIMARS.

@yellowtunes2756 Those are GPS guided artillery shells. Go watch...they never miss.

@gerfand After all that whatever that was let me say this....I think casuslties are similar for both sides. Within a few thousand iyf each other in all categories killed and wounded. They are meaningless! CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH how useless casualty numbers are. 1million....very sad, if you lose. Not as sad if you win. This is not demoralizing. Far from it. The results on the battlefield have been very positive for Ukraine. Both in a real sense territorially and psychologically. Ukraine has been able to inflict real damage on the whole of Russia with the Kerch Bridge and the Moskva sinkings. Numerous other 'fires', long range attacks and assassinations has left Russia rattled. Russia has responded by waging a war against electricity. Has had minimal gains on any front. Russia has bogged themselves down attacking Bakmut like it is Holy Jerusalem. There is nothing on the other side of it except more of what the last five months were for. There is no military victory possible for Russia. Soon as Russia gets the upper hand NATO will give them tanks or longer ranged missles. They have already signed the contracts to rebuild ALL of Ukraine. Business wins! We sit here chatting, plans are being made for Ukraine to win this.

@yellowtunes2756 Here is super accurateUkrainian artillery. https://youtu.be/yFUnlKioU2U

@TitforTat6 Ukraine is winning by a large margin. Throwing away casualties from both sides which are unconfirmed, what have you got? Biggest mistake ever is considering casualties mean anything at this early stage of the war. One hundred or three hundred thousands is a drop in the bucket , considering the scale of the conflict and how many it is going to take. Any territorial gains for Russia since Lyshchansk on July 3rd? Of course not! Russians have been losing ground ever since. Ukraine takes Lyman, Izyum and Kherson plus 6200kms² of Kharkiv. Have held Russia to 490km² of total gains all in the Donetsk region. Leader of the DPR said Bakmut would fall soon...that was two weeks ago. Russian troops in Kherson and Crimea are in danger of being cut off. NATO and the US can choose at any time to increase Ukrainian military capabilities. Russia has more of the same inaccurate. Soviet weaponry. That is all they will ever get.
1
@YorkerEli That is not true. Russia has 10x the less accurate artillery types and sketchy supply lines. Russian artillery barages are not as intense as it used to be. That has been the problem for Russia. HIMARS is messing with resupply. Cannot fire shells you do not have.

@johnbaker4246 Any proof that Russia attacks with a 3 to 1 ratio or do they just send everybody they have available?
1
@gerfand Everything Russians and you guys say is based on "Ukraine has high casualty numbers", with ZERO possibility to accurately verify them.👈 RMoD you trust? When Ukraine was defending Lysychansk. Russian artillery was working well and territory was being gained. "Ukraine takes heavy losses". Since July Russia has been trying to take Bakmut. Russians don't take heavy losses, but of course "Ukraine takes heavy losses."...for five months. All Ukrainian claims are "fake". During Ukraine's counteroffensive Ukraine makes tremendous gains. Proven by the number of flags raised over various settlements. Russia claims "Ukraine takes heavy losses". Same story with Kherson. Both cases the Russian army withdrew. There has not been one instance in history where a retreating army has inflicting more casualties than the one chasing them.🤷♂️ Yet Russia claims this and you believe it. Does this not strike you as some form of collective self brainwashing? Does Russia ever take serious losses?
1
@gerfand You quote the exact same things the Russians do.🤷♂️ You avoided answering everyone of my questions for some reason. Would answering them bring you too close to reality? No matter here is one more question for you. How does Russia "guess" at Ukrainian losses and how does Ukraine "guess" at Russian ones? If you do not know the answer to this then you are "guessing" wrong.
1
@gerfand How does an EU president know about casualties? Ukraine does not even tell the Pentagon such information. Does not stop you guys latching on to it as being more "proof". Russisn FSB officer leaks "90k Russians KIA" You guys..."that is fake".
1
@yellowtunes2756 My point was that NATO has many systems and ammunitions that can be deployed to supplement artillery and that they can only get more lethal from here. Glonass shells were tested head to head against Excalibur by India. They chose the Excalibur. The Russian shells had poor results. You can add the point that anything Russia does is either pointless or is being done better by somebody else.

@gerfand You criticized me for bringing up Kerch and the other stuff. You downplay the fact that Russia military called it the 'most defended bridge in the world'. How defended do you think the Russian people felt seeing that fireball? There is now a Ukrainian postage stamp of that bridge. Same with the ship. Massive victories that have swayed western support 100 percent behind Ukraine. Affecting the numbers on the battlefield. I avoided the obvious ones like Kharkiv when the Russian First Army fled. Do you know why they fled? Sorry 'regrouped' Just assume you have it all figured out. HISTORY! The First Army has a very long history of only three months! It was hurriedly formed from new conscripts and police officers on June 22nd 2022. Survivors of the heavily depleted 200th brigade acted as officers and were the first to flee. Starting a total collapse. Lyman was a 'stand and fight' point for RF. Ukraine beat Russia out of that too. Demoralizing you might say. But we still have those stacked casualty numbers yo keep us warm at night. Notice that you went straight back to them in defense of my comment? "that doesn't change the numbers on the battlefield". Guess what? Igor of the RMoD's numbers aren't changing Ukrainian successes on the battlefield either. Feel free to remind me of any noteworthy Russisn victories, as I again remind you. Forget your security blanket! Numbers DO NOT MATTER! Only thing that does is who is doing what. How does each side estimate casualties? One is more realistic than the other.

@yellowtunes2756 They have both. They went with the Russian version first. India has Russisn artillery for a long time.

@yellowtunes2756 Did you not hear of these beauties? GBU-39 Small Diameter Bomb The GBU-39/B Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) is a 250 lb (113 kg) precision-guided glide bomb that is intended to provide aircraft with the ability to carry a ... Unit cost: US$40,000 (SDB); US$250,000FY2014 (SDB II) Operational range: All SDB I variants; more than 69 mi (110 km); SDB II (GBU-53/B); ... The announcement said end of this year. They are to be converted to fit HIMARS. I like the warehead. Russia will not be able to match Ukraine soon.
1
@gerfand I didn't. I added to it.
1
@gerfand You asked for facts to back up my claims, not my bias. I think the collapse of the newly formed untrained First Army and the liberation of an entire Oblast is an excellent 'exhibit A' of a case where Russia lost heavily no matter what the casualties were. I was simply doing as you requested.🤷♂️
1
@gerfand Oh my mistake you are right about that. I should be talking about casualties. Because EVEN THOUGH they have no importance TO ANYTHING actually happening. YOU continually prove my point! What about the First Army collapse? Massive casualties. Unorganized withdrawal from Lyman. Massive casualties. HIMARS strikes on multiple barracks. Massive casualties. NO! You say!....Only talk about casualties nothing else! Casualties prove Russia is winning no matter what! How the hell is Russia considered to be winning? Mass self hypnosis the lot of you! Research how these things are calculated. You won't believe me telling you obviously.
1
@gerfand "The first army that was...".Are you talking about 'Russian excuses?' Ukraine doesn't make excuses. Winners never do. "Point?" What point have you made? Ukraine is hiding casualties? Who cares!?!!... Oh wait!...YOU DO!! Okay have it your way. Ukraine has two million casualties they are hiding. You have made your point! NOW....TELL ME! What does that mean? You have thought about it right?
1
@Deathproof-Zero1 Did I mention TOS-1? They are short range. Not comparable. Smerch or Tornado is. They have guided rockets but they have never been used. They use unguided rockets. How accurate is BM 30 Smerch? Smerch salvo accuracy is no more than 0.21% of rockets flying range. 300-mm "Smerch" projectiles are fitted with solid fuel engines. Rockets have 7.6 m length and 800 kg weight.
1
@yellowtunes2756 Go check your equipment. Smerch is not that accurate Tornado doesnt have the rockets guided rockets. Iskanders cost a million each. Anyway.... The discussion was Ukraine running out of ammo. It will never be the case. Western media likes a good story too.
1
@gerfand You avoided the question. If you cannot tell me WHAT heavy losses for Ukraine means, why are all of you so focused on them? Makes sense that if Ukraine had less casualties they would have beaten Russia back even further. Had even more success. Stop digging a deeper hole for yourself by ignoring facts. Casualties do not hide anything. You still have to look away from Russian setbacks. Cope? Not since Lysychansk have I had to 'cope'. HIMARS made sure.
1
@TitforTat6 Nobody countered anything. I acknowledged what you all say about casualties. I have only one question and none of you have answered it. What does heavy Ukrainian casualties mean? They mean a lot of people died. Can you say it has translated to anything on the battlefield? Loss of combat power? A weakness to exploit? Anything after months of punishing losses? You are all coping with your casualty numbers and I proved it.
