  1. Not only that but firewood whether in log rounds or split like Kyle's, should never be in contact with the ground! That leads to exposure to water, moisture, rot and insects! It would be better off by cutting down two small to medium-sized trees and put them on cross blocks in parallel and then stack wood on top of that, with zero contact with ground. Even the two parallel tree supports ideally should be placed on concrete blocks, or hunks of rock, rather than on sawn wooden cross blocks.
