  1.  @KYLESCABIN  I suggested the Fiskars x27 36-in splitting axe two seasons ago. Btw, I'd split ALL pieces of wood, accelerates drying. I'm the one who suggested the "Kindling Cracker," that allows you to split small pieces of wood by striking downwards against the splitter with a 3 lb sledgehammer. Cierra could do. This way fingers and hands are never endangered by a super sharp blade. Some people will get a medium-sized old tire, fill the tire with upright unsplit wood and then using a splitting ax, systematically split all the pieces with no fly off(!) of split wood pieces. Place your wheelbarrow right next to the tire, put all the split pieces from the tire in the wheelbarrow saving strain on the back, and then haul off to your shed.
