  1. Yeah, you need a warming pad, and grow lights. Stuff may or may not sprout as is. Start outdoor plant seeds about 6 weeks before outdoor planting. Plant seeds of cold tolerant crops when soil warm enough to work. Radishes, spinach, broccoli, cabbage, they'll know when to sprout.

  2. A DIY pH soil tester is cheap and easy. Important! Search online, see if MN has "agricultural stations, where u can buy soil test kits, you return samples to them for testing. Don't forget about critter/deer fencing.
