  4. We live in the ruins of a once great country racked by 2 disastrous world wars and internal strife. I see no reason for much hope in the England I love. But I guess that was really washed away decades ago (starting in 1914) It’s a pity we didn’t become like Austria Norway or Denmark after 1945 and stopped pretending to be something we weren’t anymore. I say this with no glee but with a heavy heart.
