Again the grey jedi can connect the previous the trilogies better. While giving closure. Since Rey and Kilo are 2 sides of the same coin, Rey defeats the Dark Rey, giving her enough power to defeat Kilo. She defeats Kilo, but since that would unbalances the force, she decides to improve in both ways, becoming a Grey jedi. That creates balance to the Force, and hopes for a New Republic and rebels that defeat the renmants of First Order. Making the next movies less focused on the Force, Jedi and Sith. But the New Republic / Rebels vs remnants of the First Order and who knows, with the movies based on the Old Republic, bring back a new threat, that makes the Rebels and First Order allying to defeat that new threat. Would be a new take on the franchise.

Is funny, I don't see anyone focusing in this possibility for Rey, I could be mistaken. But Rey could be the first Grey Jedi and they need that to finish the Skywalker saga or instead only creating a perpetual loop. If Rey defeats Kilo Ren and becomes a Sith lord, the Force only will create someone to balance it again, creating a loop. And if this is the last of this saga, not the franchise itself, Rey needs to become the Grey jedi, the Balance itself. Or even make Kilo and Rey change sides, would be a dumb and obvious plot twist. And Rey needs a Sith teacher, who's better than Palpatine, while Anakin Skywalker ghost will be important to teach her the importance of balance, since he was both Jedi and then Sith and then Jedi again. The only plausible reason to make her go Sith is to force the Force to take action, but if not mistaken she doesn't want to do more Starwars movies, I could be wrong. Because she would had become the villain for the next trilogy.
