I must say though that you are also making mistakes, you seem to think individuals in society are atomic (stand alone). But they aren’t, there is actually a certain validity in our interdependency that makes it so that, and u prob heard this before, “no person is an island”. Society most certainly has an influence on our day to day lives. And things like white privilege certainly exist. So yes, you are responsible for yourself. But what when you’re discriminated against because of who you are? Are you going to spout the same stuff when you’re living in South Africa and your land is taken away because you’re white? Example, the study on the effect of names when applying for a job: They see a resume “Bjorn” and then they see one for “Mohammed”; you will always be more likely to be chosen over Mo in Norway. THIS Bjorn, is white privilege. How can you detect discrimination against OTHER PPL??? Of course you didn’t notice because you’re not the one being discriminated against due to skin colour! This is painful to watch man. Are you going to double down and deny scientific studies that you have looked into this? It’s reality whether you like it or not. It doesn’t mean u just get everything handed to you, what it does mean is that you’re not actively discriminated against. You know what move to South Africa, once u lost your white privilege you will know what you had.

  13. I will make white privilege more understandable by giving you a simple example based on cars and traffic. Imagine you get into your car and start driving on the W1, the W1 is the road for white ppl: you get to drive on a comfy road with a few traffic lights to your destination. Meanwhile your neighbor that is non-white starts driving and since they are not white they don't get to drive on the W1, instead they take a side entrance to a tunnel for the X3. On the X3 there are regular traffic lights and every third traffic light there's a police check station where they do a full body search. While your drive takes 10 mins, they have to take a detour and stop frequently so they're on the road for 50 mins on the same distance. In the evening you see your neighbour coming home and you wave at them smiling, cause you're a nice guy. Your neighbour then says "Damn it must be nice to drive on the W1". Then you go inside and think well we're both home and we both drove. I don't know what route they took but I'm sure it's exactly the same as mine. I wonder why they complain about the roads, the roads are great. Why would they say my road is better? I had to stop for some lights, just like them. Of course the only reason you can say this is because you're completely ignorant to the X3, since well you can't drive there, you can only drive on the W roads. It doesn't matter that you don't think that changes anything, because it does. Do you understand white privilege now Bjorn?

Example of white privilege here: just because we have white privilege doesn’t mean we don’t also struggle. But then just because we struggle doesn’t mean we don’t have privilege. And we certainly do. An example of this is if you or I were to try get a job somewhere in Europe for example we would have better chances to get in for an interview because we have the ‘’normal” names of Kim or Ben. However “Mohammed” or the like would have a much harder time. You can easily find the scientific studies on this when u google “names interview study”. This is only One example that completely debunks what he just said about the subject. I imagine he’s confused because some woke ppl like to pretend it invalidates our struggles, but those ppl are very silly

Comes down to him either lacking information or not explaining what he means. And I know he’s lacking the information because I do have it. For example on white privilege, it’s very easy to miss one’s privilege . I’ve given the example of first names in job interviews before. He also seems confused about big/small government, what he calls big gov is actually small gov :/ small gov is limited to use of force, big gov is expanded with social things such as healthcare and cheap education.

  70. This is true for sex yes, but this differentiates from gender which is expression based on sex. Gender is the social construct, sex is the biological fact. An example of gender expression in the West is women tend to wear skirts, earrings, make-up; men tend to wear pants, no make-up. If u look at India u can see some men wearing doti, skirts basically. Which makes sense because it's warm af. Ppl need to stop conflating different terms lol

I can agree that woke ppl can certainly take shit too far, but I do wonder what everyone understand as 'woke'. Sometimes it seems like they speak of things I don't consider woke at all, but rather basic. I think you missed the point on white privilege a bit though, just because someone is struggling in life doesn't mean they're not privileged. It is EXTREMELY easy to blind to ones privilege. For example I'm going to uni atm, it costs about 1000 euros a year. I am privileged to have this cheap education and also to consider this cheap. A clearer example is the fact that 'white ppl names' will get picked over 'non-white ppl names' when applying for jobs in white/western countries. This is white privilege, and even Bobby-Bill living in his camper will have it without even knowing. It doesn't magically make life easier, rather you could see it more as a not being hampered for categorical qualities of a person. Do you know what I mean?
