  3. 21:31 you wonder what the purpose is to saying “enslaved” instead of “slave”. I don’t particularly care, but to me it seems pretty clear. When I say; “Slave” that person’s identity is them being a slave, vs “Enslaved” their identity is not that of a slave but of a person that is being enslaved. Subtle difference but the latter can be seen as affirming a more positive/respectful(?) identity. I suppose it’s all about connotation and nuance. We do love nuance @ uni

  7. Did you consider Bujinkan as well? Its a pretty unique one imo I suppose Kempo is prob the same as Karate too. I did Aikido, Karate, Kempo and Bujinkan :)

  10. It’s not about offense, it’s about accuracy. There is no “year of the lord” because there never was any lord, so why say AD? It implies factuality so it is removed in the sciences. Weekdays don’t imply Thor, etc exist so there’s no need to change those. Also it’s not just performative, obv they keep the current calendar lol. They’re sticking to the same system because there is no issue with it, you’re failing to see the difference between starting a calendar at a certain date and starting it at the date when a magic man was born. We can keep the date just fine, you keep the magic man though. Again it is not about offense, I’d say it is about not referring to magic in history. But yeah can use either imo
