Yeah, I think that the US may be headed for mediocrity as a nation. Too much of a "gimmee my free stuff" attitude; that... combined with the enormous levels of debt... and the $200 trillion in unfunded liabilities... means that the US is likely to become less prosperous in the future than it has been in the past.

@raybod1775 There's no disagreement between us on the matter of airline bailouts.

@ugoekwegh4581 I'm not in favor of corporate bailouts; but in general, those who received a bailout of some kind did pay more in taxes.... over the 10 years preceding the bailout.... than they received from the government.
