Not a bad idea to hold BOTH gold and bitcoin.

@dbanks128 Bitcoin is quite popular in countries like Venezuela and Argentina, where the value of the fiat currency drops rapidly. And bitcoin (or other crypto) can be quite useful for a resident of China who's trying to get money out of the country. For people in many countries, poor people (as well as wealthy people) can benefit from holding some crypto.

@PauloGaetathe_original Bitcoin is more than just a "note on a ledger". Bitcoin is, in part, an immutable ledger; a ledger which is maintained via the expenditure of a large amount of energy (electricity running computers worldwide). It is of value to people who want censorship-resistant money; and a form of money that is scarce, and that is outside the control of any government or any bank. As for gold, the vast, vast majority of the gold that is purchased is either for jewelry, or for its "store of wealth" attribute.... NOT because it can be used in electronics. [That being said, I've got a substantial investment in gold mining stocks].
