  1. Not a question of morality; it's a question of what the IRS will do (if you're a US citizen) and don't meet your tax obligations. Most likely, if you're willing to spend the rest of your life outside the US (and assuming that you're not ultra-rich), the IRS wouldn't take any action against you.

  2.  @royponpon1755  Yes, it's risky to try to fool the IRS. Still, I wonder what the "threshold" might be for the IRS to go after a US citizen who has taken up residence in another country. In any case, thanks for the comment.
