  1. Given all the debt and the unfunded liabilities (and the Fed balance sheet), the US dollar could... at some point... go into a long period of decline (relative to commodities & other currencies). Were that to happen, the only way to preserve wealth on a pre-tax basis would be to hold tangible assets. But those assets would be subject to capital gains taxes upon selling. So a "nomad capitalist" would have an advantage over a US citizen if he were able to eliminate, or sharply reduce, his capital gains tax obligation.
