  1. The US dollar won't become worthless against other fiat currencies... not within the next 20 years, anyway.

  2. The US government has no politically acceptable way to reduce the debt- to- GDP ratio.... but it DOES have options; and of those options, inflation is the least bad (but still very bad). And by "inflation", I don't just mean 2%; the US dollar will have to be devalued against gold QUITE SUBSTANTIALLY.
