So why are so many people, who allegedly understand what he meant, using his special as an excuse to spew more hate and violence? Because I definitely don't see people acting like they took his lesson away from it. They pick everything else that they can to use as a reason for them to dismiss other people as less than.

@PutinsMommyNeverHuggedHim Just read through all of the comments on any YouTube video or Reddit post for this topic. There are tons of comments acting like this is an example for their hate to be justified. The next step after that is physical violence being justified to them....and the way they talk...sure seems like it already is.

Dude, the fact that most people engaging on this topic just start bashing on trans people...even more than gay people, even though though the talk was about all of them, just shoes that it is not being used in the manner Chappele intended. It has invited hate and justified it for many.

@MGFTM Yeah the difference is these minorities have had the hate and rage directed at them forever. Y'all don't get to be outraged by our anger and hate at y'alls bullshit and then act like there is no possible reason for the outrage. Wanting to be called whatever you want to be called is not authoritarian. Refusing to and only allowing your biased opinions not based in facts, or based in old science because y'all don't trust science unless it's from an outdated research group and fits your bias, and thus forcing your notion of what is the right way to live IS authoritarian. Nobody is forcing you to do anything. You don't want to call someone by whatever pronoun. The walk on. Leave them alone. It doesn't really concern you does it!? Move your scared little butt aside and stay out of it of you can't be a respectful human being. Quit making excuses for your willful ignorance.

@MGFTM Human rights aren't authoritatively mandated "niceness". You are shit human being covering it up with nice positive words to appear like you think rationally...while calling human rights mandated niceness. Gtfo.

@MGFTM I'm very anti social, I'm not in any crowd. You sure are though. Recognizing human rights isn't about any particular group. It's about all of us. And you're the one who brought up your internalized transphobia not me. Maybe, a little Freudian slip there...maybe you are realizing your bigotry. Sitting here talking bout connectedness while giving a veiled bigot response so you can appear "nice". It didn't work.

@lnss8775 You aren't paying attention then. Did you even watch this video?

@PutinsMommyNeverHuggedHim Get over yourself. If you haven't seen it you are ignoring it. I'm not gonna go make a compendium for you. It's not just people defending Chapelle. Stay under your rock if you don't want to believe it but it's true. I'm not making it up.

@willbennett9233 I never said Chapelle was. I said it was ignorant of him to think that what he said wouldn't be used to advocate for what he says he doesn't support.

@willbennett9233 Even George Carlin understood the power of his words and how they can be twisted and to be careful what you put out there. My point, from the beginning, is that Chapelle is not an idiot. And now he is trying to play dumb...as if it's just unfathomable...as if his voice doesn't matter and he is "just a comedian". Then just be a comedian. I'm not saying he is responsible for them. But to deny the influence is just ignoring what's right in front of you. He put it right into a comfy little area of ridicule, the same place those conservative white people like to put black people in too. He even said himself his community could use some tips from their movements in his special. The difference is their communities have already been destroyed from within..already hard enough to get people to work together...even when it's for the rights of ALL OF US. People act like these humans rights groups are only fighting for themselves. More human rights made law, only benefits everybody.

@willbennett9233 I think people are done with the "tolerance" of these kinds of people.

@PutinsMommyNeverHuggedHim I never said anything about canceling him. Just about people acting like it has nothing to do with it.
