@LukeCunningham Generational wealth inevitably must lead to socioeconomic inequality, even if everyone started at the same level. The government should exist to prevent exactly that, and to provide for the basic needs of the people that comprise it, and that too is impossible if wealth and its power are allowed to be hoarded and sequestered over time. Reasonable inheritance tax laws should also be progressive and not flat, just like all other taxes ought to be, so that the ones paying the most by proportion are those who have the most.
This way everyone receives their base needs and nobody is left behind, while also allowing for the natural passing of genuinely greater living standards generation to generation. Because, my friend, as you're probably aware, it is a hard fact that Millennials and Gen Zs have progressively worse economic prospects than the generations that came before: The current generations, overall, will have a worse life than their parents.
