  2. We literally saw the disasters that befell Mongolia after the transition in this very video. "It was very mean of them to regulate herds! Anyway, after they stopped regulating herds, the land was ruined. Also women went from 7 babies to 2 because they couldn't afford any more, destroying nomadic lifestyles." The neoliberal propaganda is *insane*

I don't mind doing that, but it's beneath us to engage in an exchange of sheer rhetoric alone when talking economy. What I'm really commenting on here is the way that this vid Red baits the Mongolian People's Party, describing their "authoritarian" regulations regarding herd size and composition, and then not two minutes later it's describing the ruining of the plains and of many families' ways of life as a direct result of abandoning those regulations in favor of the profit motive. It almost gave me whiplash, and genuinely drew a surprise laugh out of me — one wonders whether the script writer even realizes what they did, whether it was deliberately manipulative or whether it just came naturally to them without conscious thought
