@Dennis The Red Menace Tankie is a meaningless word, a mere insult, not a political term. Anyone throwing that word around is unable to elaborate upon it because there's nothing to elaborate upon. "Authoritarianism" "Totalitarianism" "Communism" is the extent of their reply, because we all know only commie states exercise "authority", and Kent State and George Floyd only represent aberrations, right?

'Whataboutism' is literally a term invented to deflect all criticisms of the West coming from communists. You are literally standing there saying it just doesn't matter if the USA did something bad, it only matters if its enemies did something it considers to be bad. That is the only logical conclusion of that term. It's Red Scare "my team can do no wrong" nonsense. And why are communists "tankies" but American warhawks justifying the Military Industrial Complex are somehow not? Again, it's just "it's okay when I do it" levels of childish thinking

Is he supposed to invent an entire communist program to support him financially? Obviously such systems are the goal, but what, you're suggesting it's folly to strive for a grand goal if it doesn't happen immediately? Or perhaps you think every communist should be voiceless and powerless, or else they're a hypocrite? What conveniently capitalist lines of thinking either way

@alexanderboulton2123 But once again, militarism, cult of personality, and hyper-nationalism are all undeniably and equally found in the modern United States or the former Soviet Union, amongst countless other states with varying governing ideologies. Those things are not the definition of fascism, even if fascist states often have them. These are political science terms, not hollow labels to be casually applied in a way little different from a normal insult

Social Democracy, being a reformist capitalist ideology, by definition does not strive for the "liberation of the workers". So why are you offering advice in that regard if it isn't even something you want? You realize such liberation is fundamentally and non-controversially impossible under classist society with the rich few controlling wealth redistribution, I'm sure?

From native genocide to the world's largest incarcerated population to imperialist wars that have killed tens of millions of innocents from South America to the Levant to Southeast Asia... I could go on, of course, and I'm sure you could throw in several more crimes for which history will condemn us as Americans who passively tolerated them to be perpetrated. At any rate, if there's a point I'm making, it's this: Whatever instinctive distrust and disgust you feel towards the DPRK, it is cosmically foolish not to apply that very same brand of condemnatory scepticism to the biggest bully in the planet's history, your own side. Also, fascism really requires the ideological supremacy of a single group elevated to the bourgeois class on the backs of every other lesser group's proletariat, usually with little to no regard for the humanity of those other groups. In that more accurate regard, America is much closer to fascism than the DPRK: In fact, it is fascist, and amongst the many villainous crimes of the Kim dynasty, fascism is not one of them

I am reminded of the people who try to argue that Cuba is bad because rich families who were kicked out in the 50s still whine in Miami about loosing their casinos and sweatshops. People will always tend to want to filter to places with the best economic opportunities for them, but embargoing a place and then pointing out that it's embargoed is proof of American cruelty, not Cuban failure

Is this your first time hearing Marxists talk? A bias against liberal democracies? Obviously yes, all Marxists oppose classist, imperialist tyrannies of the bourgeoisie. And crying "whataboutism" is just a way of saying "it's only okay when my side does it", it's a fictional deflection of genuine criticisms just because they come from communists. The United States has the highest incarcerated population of any country on earth by far, including India and the People's Republic of China with populations over three times greater
